As you may have noticed, Two Birds Tattoo in Greenwood / Phinney is one of our awesome sponsors for the Girls of Summer Alleycat. On a rainy Thursday last week, we dropped by the shop to pick up some prizes, drop off fliers, and get some photos while we were at it. Unfortunately our real camera died, but we made do with what we had.
The shop is located at 74th and Greenwood, sort of between the hub bub to the north and south, but still in the company of lots of cool businesses and restaurants (there’s a vegan chocolate and shoe boutique right next door!).
The shop itself is beautiful and clean, where others are sometimes intimidating and claustrophobic. Instead of walls of flash, Two Birds was decorated with surreal paintings for Greenwood’s annual artwalk, and their lobby served double-duty as display for a cute curated selection of jewelry, accessories and prints available for purchase.
Owners/founders Suzy Todd and Ruby Santiago were both in the shop, and were excited to be sponsoring the event. We talked a bit about the shop (it celebrated its first birthday in February), and the other artists in-house (Tarrah Pennington, and recent hire Alexis Witt).
All four artists have portfolios up on the Two Birds website, but you should definitely go in for yourself to browse in person and thank them for sponsoring the race! The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday, 11am to 7pm, and Sun, 11am to 5pm. After you’ve visited in person, you should check out the About the Shop page on their site to see the before and after shots of the space – they did a great job. Let us know if you drop by!
